San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers are the only current NFL team in southern California. Charter members of the AFL, the Chargers moved to San Diego after playing their first season in Los Angeles. Over the years, the Chargers have won one AFL Championship, one Conference Championship and 15 Division Championships. With 17 Playoff appearances they have only played in one Super Bowl, losing Super Bowl XXIX to the San Francisco 49ers at the end of the 1994 season. In 2010 the Chargers ranked first in overall offense and defense.

The Chargers play their home games at the Qualcomm Stadium in the Mission Valley area of San Diego. This stadium has a capacity of 70,561 and has hosted three Super Bowl games, two MLB All-Star games and various other high level sporting events. The Qualcomm Stadium is the only venue to host the Super Bowl and the World Series in the same year.
