New York Jets

The New York Jets were the Titans of New York when they joined the AFL as charter members in 1960. The name changed to the Jets in 1963 and they joined the NFL as part of the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. Since that time, the Jets have won 4 Division Championships and made 14 Playoff appearances resulting in victory in Super Bowl III, but they have not reached the final since. This 42 year drought is one of the longest in Super Bowl history.

In a unique arrangement, the New York Jets share MetLife Stadium with the other NFL team from New York, the Giants. This new stadium only opened in 2010, and has a capacity of 82,566 making it the largest in the NFL. It will be the host venue for Super Bowl XLVIII in February 2014.
