New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints joined the NFL in 1966 as an expansion team. It took many years of struggle before they started to get any kind of success, with a twenty year wait for their first winning season. More recently they have been successful, with four division championships, one Conference Championship and eight Playoff appearances on their record. Their best moment was in 2009 when they won Super Bowl XLIV beating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17.

The home field for the Saints is the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. The Superdome opened in 1975 and has a capacity of 76,468. It has been the host of six Super Bowls, with the seventh scheduled for 2013. The stadium came in international attention in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina flooded parts of New Orleans and many residents took shelter here.
