Kansas City Chiefs

Originally starting life as the Dallas Texans as a charter member of the AFL in 1960, they moved to Kansas City in 1963 and changed name to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have a proud history and were the second AFL team to win the Super Bowl and were the first team to appear in the championship game in two different decades. In addition to the 1969 Super Bowl Championship, the Chiefs have also won the AFL Championship on three occasions and eight Division Championships. They have had 16 playoff appearances, but their only other Super Bowl appearance was in Super Bowl I, which they lost.

The Kansas City Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium, the seventh largest sporting venue in North America with a capacity of 76,416. On the same site is a baseball stadium in a side-by-side configuration. As all regular visitors to the ground know, fans changes the words of “The Star Spangled Banner” to “Chief!” instead of “brave” at the end of the song.
